Paul Pogba was absolutely incredible in Manchester United’s Premier League season opener against Leeds United last weekend as he provided four assists on the day, as the Red Devils walked out of Old Trafford with a 5-1 victory.
It was one of the Frenchman’s best performances for the club till now. In fact, he was in great form last season as well and was one of the biggest reasons behind the team’s strong 2020/21 campaign, as they finished second in the Premier League and runners up in the Europa League.
With the addition of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton this summer, that squad might very well be even more stronger now and should be considered as one of the top contenders for the Premier League title this season. They finished matchday 1 at the top of the table.
One big worry for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer though will be the long-term Old Trafford future of Pogba. As reported by the Daily Star, Pogba is targeting a free deal to Real Madrid next summer.

Manchester United handed Pogba to Real Madrid worry
Pogba is in the final 12 months of his current deal with the Red Devils and a contract extension does not appear to be close at the moment. As a result, his long-term future at the club certainly is up in the air right now.
He was heavily linked with a transfer exit to Paris Saint-Germain this summer but after the French giants signed Lionel Messi, that move is very unlikely.
But the Frenchman will become a free agent next summer if he does not sign a contract extension with Manchester United soon. And that will certainly be a worry for Solskjaer’s side. He is still a massive part of this team and him leaving would be a blow. One can only hope that the Red Devils are able to convince him to stay beyond this season.
