Manchester United have made some solid additions to their squad this summer, with Jadon Sancho and Tom Heaton already at Old Trafford, and a move for Raphael Varane not seeming to be far away either.

It is safe to say that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad has been strengthened further following a 2020/21 campaign that saw them finish an impressive second in the Premier League and reach the Europa League finals.

Thus, there are hopes that this could be the season when they end their long trophyless streak. The Red Devils have not won a trophy in four seasons now.

The club should be considered contenders for the Premier League title this season after the additions that they have made this summer. But if they are to make further signings, they might have to let players leave first.

Manchester United are ready to let three players leave this summer

As reported by Manchester Evening News, the club are open to letting Jesse Lingard, Andreas Pereira and Phil Jones leave before the transfer window closes on August 31.

Lingard showed spectacular form in the second half of last season while away on loan at West Ham United and was one of the best players in the Premier League during that period of time. But with him being in the final year of his contract at Old Trafford and opportunities still expected to be limited, he might end up leaving this summer.

Pereira spent the previous campaign on loan at Lazio and he was not very impressive there. Thus, he is back at Old Trafford now. And recent rumours have suggested that there might be some interest in his signature if the Red Devils lower the transfer fee that they are looking for.

Finally, Jones has been at the club for over a decade. But he has not played for over a year now, due to injury. And with Varane set to arrive, he is expected to find himself further down the pecking order when he returns to action.
