Manchester United are set to receive a cash boost this summer, with Chelsea being the reason behind it. Thomas Tuchel’s side appear to be close to getting a move for Romelu Lukaku over the line, as last season’s UEFA Champions League winners strengthen their squad even further.

Fabrizio Romano tweeted out that the agreement is set to be completed with the transfer fee being €115 million, giving the move his famous ‘here we go’.

Before moving to Inter Milan, Lukaku was a Manchester United player though and spent a couple of seasons at the Theatre of Dreams. He had a great first season at the club but his second season was not as good.

As reported by Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils are in line to receive £4 million from Lukaku’s move to Chelsea due to a sell-on clause in his contract.

Manchester United set to receive cash boost from Lukaku’s Chelsea move

While the cash boost might be good news for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, Lukaku’s move to Chelsea might be a worry for the upcoming season.

During his time at Inter Milan, Lukaku established himself as one of the best strikers in the world and he already has plenty of Premier League experience under his belt as well, having already scored over 100 goals in the English top flight.

Chelsea have already looked very good under Tuchel and the addition of Lukaku could very possibly make them even better next season. It will be interesting to see though how he fits into that team.

It might make the path easier for the Red Devils for a potential Erling Haaland move next summer though, since Chelsea were considered as the favourites for the Norwegian striker’s signature for the majority of the current transfer window.

At the moment though, the Red Devils must be happy with their options up top, with Edinson Cavani finishing the previous campaign in sensational form.
