Jose Mourinho remains the last manager to win a trophy with Manchester United. Since then, he has gone on to manage Tottenham Hotspur as well and is now the manager of AS Roma.
Perhaps naturally, some of the players at Old Trafford were linked with a move to AS Roma this summer. The Italian side finished seventh in Serie A last season and it is safe to say that Mourinho will be looking to guide them up the table this time around.
Rumours had suggested that Nemanja Matic and Alex Telles were two players who were on AS Roma’s radar this summer. Matic is 33 years of age now and no longer a regular starter at Old Trafford. On the other hand, Telles has found it difficult to break into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s starting XI since his move last summer.
But as tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, neither Matic nor Telles are on Mourinho’s list at AS Roma:

The Manchester United duo are not on Mourinho’s wish list
It looks like Matic and Telles won’t be heading to AS Roma this summer. And while neither of them might be first-team regulars at the moment, they might end up playing important roles in Solskjaer’s side.
There have been some rumours about Solskjaer going for a change in formation this season. With Matic being the most natural defensive midfielder at the club at this point of time, that might lead to him getting more minutes on the pitch in this campaign. And with Paul Pogba’s future up in the air as well, the Red Devils might even end up needing to bring in reinforcements in the middle of the park.
On the other hand, while Telles might not have managed to get ahead of Luke Shaw in the pecking order last season, that could change this time around considering how things turn out this season for the English international in terms of form and fitness.
