One has to feel that the Manchester United squad might look a bit different this season. They have already brought in Tom Heaton and Jadon Sancho, and have reached an agreement with Real Madrid for the signing of Raphael Varane as well.

Now, it goes without saying that these are great signings and could turn out to be very important to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side. Sancho and Varane are expected to play big roles in the first-team while Heaton could have an important role as well.

On the other hand, some players are expected to leave the club as well, either on loan or on permanent basis in search of playing time, considering the incredible depth in the squad.

One such player is Andreas Pereira, who spent the previous season on loan at Lazio but is now back at Old Trafford. And the 25-year-old appeared to drop a hint about a possible exit in the near future. As reported by TNT Sports, he said:

"“In Manchester or elsewhere, the time has come to play, to have at least an hour per game on the field, to have the confidence to play. I want to be happy, to feel important.”"

Could Pereira leave Manchester United in the near future?

Coming through the club’s youth system, Pereira was very highly-rated and many believed that he would have a big future in the first-team. He has not managed to quite find his feet in senior football though.

He was on loan at Lazio last season and did not have a great campaign there either. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 1 goal and provided 4 assists in 33 appearances for the Italian club.

If he was to remain at Old Trafford this season, it does not feel like he would get a lot of minutes on the pitch. Thus, a move away might make sense for the player as well as the club at this point.

There does appear to be some interest in the player’s signature. It is believed that Lazio were interested in him once again, while Fenerbahce have been linked with a possible move recently as well. Now it remains to be seen what the future holds for the 25-year-old.
