Manchester United handed major Erling Haaland transfer boost
Erling Haaland has probably been linked with every top club in Europe, including Manchester United, over the course of the last few months. And it is not hard to see why considering how good the striker has been over the past couple of seasons or so.
Since joining Borussia Dortmund, Haaland has scored 57 goals and provided 15 assists in 59 appearances for the club according to stats from Transfermarkt. His record in the Champions League is even more extraordinary. The striker has scored 20 goals in 16 appearances in the competition while representing the Bundesliga giants and Red Bull Salzburg.
Thus, it goes without saying that he would be a brilliant addition to Manchester United if the club are able to sign him. For quite some time though, Chelsea have been believed to be interested in signing the Norwegian striker this summer although it has appeared that Borussia Dortmund want to hold on to him.
But as reported by The Telegraph, Romelu Lukaku is back on top of Chelsea’s striker wish list with Borussia Dortmund showing no sign of altering their stance on Haaland.

Manchester United handed Haaland transfer boost
This will certainly come as a boost to the Red Devils. While they are believed to be very interested in signing the striker, it seemed very unlikely this summer, considering the fact that they have already signed Jadon Sancho and agreed a deal to sign Raphael Varane from Real Madrid. Next summer could be a different story.
A release clause is believed to become active in Haaland’s contract from next summer. As a result, competition for his signature is expected to be very tough then.
But the presence of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who Haaland has worked with in the past, and Sancho at Old Trafford could possibly make it an attractive destination for the 21-year-old striker. Now it remains to be seen what the future holds.
