It is safe to say that Manchester United have made a splendid start to the summer transfer window. The Red Devils have signed Jadon Sancho and Tom Heaton already, while also reaching an agreement to sign Raphael Varane from Real Madrid.
It goes without saying that these moves can turn out to be incredibly important for the club moving forward. Sancho and Varane are expected to be first-team regulars while Heaton could have an important role to play as well.
It also takes care of two positions that the club were looking to make additions in this summer – right wing and centre-back. So, who should the club’s next transfer target be?
There are two areas where the Red Devils are believed to be looking to strengthen in over the course of the coming month – central midfield and right-back.

Who should be Manchester United’s next transfer target?
In midfield, the future of Paul Pogba appears to be up in the air at the moment. He has only a year left on his current deal and has been heavily linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain in recent times. On the other hand, Nemanja Matic is now 33 years of age. As a result, the club have been linked with the likes of Saul Niguez, Eduardo Camavinga, Ruben Neves, Declan Rice and many others recently.
On the other hand, when it comes to right-back, Brandon Williams and Diogo Dalot are both being linked with a move away from the club, either on loan or on a permanent basis. Thus, they could do with some depth beyond Aaron Wan-Bissaka there.
When comparing the two positions, it might be at right-back that the club need reinforcements more urgently. Even if Pogba or Matic were to leave this summer, the club have the likes of Donny van de Beek, Scott McTominay and Fred as options there. The same cannot be said about right-back, where Aaron Wan-Bissaka has featured more often than not in recent times.
Kieran Trippier is someone who has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United this summer and it will be interesting to see if the club can pull off a move for the Atletico Madrid right-back.
