Erling Haaland is perhaps the best youngster in world football today and most of Europe’s top clubs, including Manchester United, are believed to be interested in signing him. And it is not hard to see why.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 57 goals and provided 15 assists in 59 appearances across all competitions for Borussia Dortmund till now. His record in the Champions League is extraordinary, having scored 20 goals in 16 appearances, while representing the Bundesliga giants as well as Red Bull Salzburg in the competition.

Thus, competition is expected to be tough for Haaland’s signature, with a release clause believed to be set to become active from next summer.

As reported by the Daily Star, Manchester United believe that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s new long-term deal improves their chances of signing Haaland next summer.

Manchester United have Haaland transfer belief

Of course, any move for Haaland next summer will depend on whether he is even available then. Chelsea are believed to be interested in signing the Norwegian striker this summer itself. Rumours suggest that Borussia Dortmund might be looking for a £150 million transfer fee for the 21-year-old, which The Blues could be willing to shell out to sign him.

It remains to be seen how things unfold surrounding that transfer saga but if Haaland does end up staying at Signal Iduna Park for the season, then the Red Devils are expected to be in the race for his signature next summer.

It is not only the presence of Solskjaer that could be potentially attractive for Haaland but also that of Jadon Sancho, who he struck a brilliant partnership with at Borussia Dortmund before the Red Devils signed the England international this summer.

Signing Haaland would be considered as a major coup for any club in the world at this point of time. And things could get very interesting next summer.
