Raphael Varane’s change of plans amid Manchester United links
Raphael Varane has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United over the past month or so. And with just a year left on his current deal at Real Madrid, the move looks very much a possibility at this point of time.
It is not hard to see why the Red Devils would want to sign someone like Varane. He has an incredible combination of world-class quality and top level experience. As a result, the French World Cup winner could be a perfect partner for Harry Maguire in the heart of the defence in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
Of course, he has been one of the most important players at Real Madrid for years now. But as things stand, he will become a free agent next summer. Thus, the Spanish giants might have very few other options than to let him leave this summer.
As reported by AS, Varane had still harboured some hope of being able to continue at Real Madrid, especially after the departure of Sergio Ramos. But the Spanish giants have not been able to meet his contract conditions.

Varane has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United this summer
It appears that the Frenchman had initially hoped to remain at Real Madrid. But at this point of time, it looks like Varane is headed out of Santiago Bernabeu this summer. And a move to Old Trafford will depend on the two clubs being able to reach a deal for him.
Signing someone like Varane would be considered a massive boost for the Red Devils if they can get a deal over the line for him. The club have not won a trophy in four seasons now and someone with the pedigree of the Frenchman could definitely help bring an end to that streak.
A duo of Maguire and Varane at the heart of the defence could very well be one of the best in the entire Premier League, if not the very best. Now, it remains to be seen if the Red Devils are able to sign him.
