Paul Pogba’s Manchester United future appears to be up in the air at the moment. And with the new season fast approaching, the French midfield maestro is yet to agree a contract extension with the Red Devils.

Of course, this will be a worry for the club. Pogba has only a year left on his current deal. As a result, the Red Devils might have to consider letting him leave this summer if they cannot agree a new deal with him soon. Otherwise, he will become a free agent next summer.

Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be looking to make a move for Pogba. And if he did end up leaving, the club will have to try and find a replacement for him as soon as possible.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Manchester United are exploring a move for Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez. And there is a growing belief that a deal could be struck this window at around £45 million.

Manchester United are eyeing a move for Saul

Not too long ago, Saul was considered as one of the most highly-rated young midfielders in world football. He has not been at the top of his game in recent times though.

Although Atletico Madrid won the La Liga title last season, Saul did not have a great individual campaign. And although his current deal with the Spanish giants runs till the the summer of 2026, he is being linked with a move away this summer, with a number of clubs around Europe believed to be interested in his signature.

At 26, Saul is in his prime years as a footballer and if he can rediscover his form, he could prove to be a brilliant signing for any club. And while he has a very different playing style to that of Pogba, he might end up being a great addition to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, if they can bring him to Old Trafford this summer.
