Jadon Sancho’s likely Manchester United shirt number revealed
After being linked with him for years, Manchester United have finally managed to agree a deal with Borussia Dortmund to sign Jadon Sancho.
This should be a major coup for the Red Devils considering the fact that they were very light on options on the right wing. As a result, Mason Greenwood played there for the majority of the previous campaign and while a good learning curve for the youngster, his future is believed to lie more centrally on the pitch.
As a result, someone like Sancho would be expected to come in and quickly make the position his own. He established himself as one of the most exciting wingers in world football during his time at Borussia Dortmund. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 50 goals and provided 64 assists in 137 appearances for the Bundesliga giants.
There has been some interest amongst the fans regarding Sancho’s shirt number as well. Many rumours had suggested that he could be taking the famous number 7, worn by some of the greatest players in the club’s history. But as reported by The National, Sancho is expected to wear number 16.

Sancho expected to wear number 16 at Manchester United
With Edinson Cavani holding the number 7 shirt at the moment, Sancho not getting it this season should not come as a massive surprise.
No matter what the shirt number, the English international would be expected to come in and quickly establish himself at the club. He was one of the most exciting and effective young wingers in the world during his time at Borussia Dortmund, and it feels like the Red Devils have been trying to sign him for a few years now.
Even last summer they had tried to sign him but a move failed to materialise back then. But now, Manchester United have finally gotten their man. Let’s just hope that he can hit the ground running at the Theatre of Dreams.
