Paul Pogba’s future at Old Trafford remains up in the air at this point of time. The French midfield maestro only has one year left on his current deal with Manchester United.
As a result, if they cannot agree a contract extension with him in the near future, they might have very few options but to let him leave this summer. Otherwise, he will become a free agent a season later.
Thus, the Red Devils must have their eyes on possible replacements in case of a Pogba departure. He has been heavily linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain in recent times.
As reported by ESPN, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Lyon’s Houssem Aouar this summer. It is believed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer views Aouar as a good replacement for Pogba and an offer of €25 million could be enough to sign the 23-year-old.

Would Aouar be a good signing for Manchester United?
The French midfielder has shown a lot of potential through the course of his time at Lyon. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 32 goals and provided 31 assists in 170 appearances for the Ligue 1 giants till now.
As a result, if Pogba was to leave, he could certainly prove to be a good signing in the middle of the park for the Red Devils. There is a lot of interest in Aouar’s signature though with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur believed to be leading the race at this point of time.
But the focus of the club must be on extending Pogba’s current deal. On top of his game, he is one of the best midfielders in the world and was one of the biggest parts of Solskjaer’s team last season as they finished second in the Premier League. Thus, him leaving would definitely be a blow to the club.
