After being linked with him for years, Manchester United have finally managed to agree a deal with Borussia Dortmund this summer, for the transfer of Jadon Sancho.

The English international is expected to come in and immediately make the right wing position his own. This is a massive positive for the Red Devils, who did not have a lot of depth in the position last season.

As a result, it was Mason Greenwood who featured there for most of the previous campaign although his future is believed to lie more centrally. And while a good learning curve for the youngster, who did quite well while playing there, it was time for the club to sign a genuine winger there.

It does certainly raise a question about playing time though. How could the arrival of Sancho affect others who are already at the club? In his column in The Sun, Jose Mourinho wrote:

"Jadon Sancho has gone to United, Marcus Rashford is also there and Mason Greenwood is a good example of a player who wasn’t in this squad but can be in Qatar, when he will be much more mature and has a good possibility of being selected.Three young England players in one club, three with potential to play in the national team.Which one will have an amazing season but which one could be hidden, not starting many matches because of the coach’s decision?"

Could playing time be a worry for one of the three at Manchester United next season?

Rashford is set to miss the first couple of months of the upcoming season as he is set to undergo shoulder surgery. But when he does return to action, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will certainly have some interesting decisions to make.

Sancho would be expected to quickly establish himself as a regular in the first-team on the right wing. If that was the case, the likes of Rashford, Greenwood, Amad and Daniel James could end up vying for one spot.

While Greenwood’s future is expected to lie more centrally, at this point of time, it does not look like he is ready yet to lead the line on his own. As a result, it would not be surprising to see him feature on the flanks in the future as well. On the other hand, Rashford has always looked better on the left wing.

Thus, could one of the three English internationals end up struggling for minutes in the upcoming campaign?
