While they might have had an impressive 2020/21 season, Manchester United were ultimately unable to win a trophy. This was their fourth straight season without a single piece of silverware and the club should be looking to bring an end to this streak as soon as possible.

As a result, the Red Devils are expected to sign a few players this summer. They have already signed Tom Heaton on a free transfer. The 35-year-old could prove to be a shrewd addition to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad if either Dean Henderson or David de Gea end up departing Old Trafford in the near future.

The club have also agreed a deal with Borussia Dortmund for the signing of Jadon Sancho, who they have had on their radar for years now.

The English international’s medical appears to be completed and he could be officially unveiled as a Manchester United player very soon. Journalist Constantin Eckner tweeted out:

Sancho could be a brilliant signing for the Red Devils. The youngster established himself as one of the most exciting wingers in the world during his time at Borussia Dortmund. And at 21 years of age, he is only expected to get better moving forward.

He had a EURO 2020 to forget though. The 21-year-old did not feature much in Gareth Southgate’s side and then ended up being one of the three to miss a spot kick for England in the penalty shootout in the final. Hopefully, he can quickly put this disappointment behind him and start the season on a fresh note.

If Sancho can continue to progress at the rate that he did at Signal Iduna Park over the last few years, the Red Devils might very well have one of the best players in the world on their hands in a few years’ time.
