Manchester United are expected to try to sign a centre-back this summer. It is believed that defence is an area where they can improve further moving forward although Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof did form a formidable duo in the heart of defence last season.
As a result, the club have been linked with multiple centre-backs over the course of the last few months. The names of the likes of Raphael Varane, Pau Torres, Jules Kounde, Nikola Milenkovic, Cristian Romero and several others have been brought on multiple occasions.
As reported by Foot Mercato (via Sports Mole), Manchester United have an eye on Joachim Andersen. And Lyon are believed to be looking for a transfer fee of around €30 million to let him leave. Tottenham Hotspur also appear to have him on their radar.
The Danish centre-back recently featured at EURO 2020, where Denmark did brilliantly to reach the semi-finals of the competition before being knocked out at the hands of England in a very tight game.

Manchester United have an eye on Andersen
Andersen has already proven himself in the Premier League and is coming off of an impressive individual season on loan with Fulham, although the club were relegated from the top flight of English football.
According to stats from Transfermarkt, the 25-year-old made 31 appearances for Fulham last season, scoring and assisting once each in the process of doing so.
At this point of time, Varane appears to be the Red Devils’ first-choice target when it comes to making an addition to the heart of their defence. Now, it remains to be seen whether they can bring him to Old Trafford from the Santiago Bernabeu.
But as we know, things can change very quickly in football. As a result, they must keep their options open in case they are not able to sign Varane. And in that scenario, Andersen could prove to be a good signing for the club.
