Manchester United told who they must sign after Jadon Sancho
It is safe to say that Manchester United have made an impressive start to the summer transfer window. The club have already signed Tom Heaton on a free transfer and the goalkeeper could possibly serve as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s number two in the upcoming season if either David de Gea or Dean Henderson was to depart Old Trafford this summer.
The Red Devils have also managed to agree a deal with Borussia Dortmund for Jadon Sancho in what will be a major coup for the club. They have been linked with the English international for years and now, he is finally set to move to Old Trafford.
But the club won’t be expected to stop here. There are still a number of positions in the squad where they must improve. One of them is centre-back.
While speaking to talkSPORT and as reported by Manchester Evening News, Andros Townsend told the Red Devils that Varane would be a brilliant signing for them:
"“If you look at Manchester United’s team, they are very top-heavy.“They have a lot of forward options and Jadon Sancho will give them another option but Varane, if he does come in, will solidify the back four.“He will give them extra strength, extra pace and somebody of his calibre is more suited to the Premier League.“He’s big, he’s strong, he is quick and I definitely think the Varane one takes them closer to where they want to be.”"

Varane would be a great signing for Manchester United
With just a year left on his current deal with Real Madrid, Varane could depart Santiago Bernabeu this summer. And it goes without saying that if the Red Devils can bring him to Old Trafford, it has the potential to be a sensational signing. Rumours have suggested that he is near the top of their wish list.
Varane has been one of the best defenders in all of Europe for years now. And his qualities could make him a perfect complement to Harry Maguire in the heart of defence as well.
Now, one might question how Varane would adjust to the Premier League. But for someone with his experience at both club and international level, that should not hopefully be a massive problem.
Of course, it is worth pointing out that centre-backs like Nikola Milenkovic, Pau Torres, Jules Kounde, Cristian Romero and several others have also been linked with Manchester United in recent months.
