Surprise news emerges about Manchester United’s centre-back plans
Manchester United are expected to make a splash in the summer transfer window. In fact, they have already agreed a Jadon Sancho deal with Borussia Dortmund after being linked with the English winger for years. And another area where they could be looking to strengthen in is centre-back.
Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof were Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first choice pairing at the heart of the defence through the course of the previous campaign. And the two did form a formidable duo. But even then, there is a feeling that it is an area were the Red Devils can improve even further.
As a result, the club have been linked with the likes of Raphael Varane, Pau Torres, Jules Kounde, Nikola Milenkovic, Cristian Romero, Kalidou Koulibaly and many others over the course of the last few months.
The general feeling was that the club could be looking to sign a centre-back to partner Maguire at the heart of their defence. But as reported by Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are considering signing two centre-backs to bolster their defence for next season.

Manchester United are considering signing two centre-backs this summer
It would certainly be interesting if the Red Devils ended up signing two centre-backs this summer. Recent rumours have suggested that Varane is the first-choice target for the club. But they have also been heavily linked with Torres as well, especially after his brilliant performance in the Europa League final.
Could the club end up signing both? If yes, will Solskjaer move to three at the back? Otherwise, who will be the one to sit on the bench? These are certainly very interesting questions.
It is also very possible that one of them could be an up-and-coming centre-back who the Red Devils would sign as someone they would expect to become a first-team regular in the future and not immediately.
It remains to be seen what will happen over the course of the next few months, but one thing is for sure though, this promises to be a very exciting summer transfer window for Manchester United fans.
