Manchester United are eyeing move for Bayern Munich star
Manchester United might look to improve in the middle of the park over the course of the summer transfer window. Fred and McTominay have been Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first choice pairing there for most of the previous campaign, while Nemanja Matic has also featured there. While playing mostly further up the pitch in recent times, Paul Pogba is another one who has been a part of the midfield two sitting in front of the defence on occasions.
It is safe to say that Fred and McTominay have formed a formidable partnership as they have both improved as individual players as well. But even then, there could be more additions in central midfield in the near future.
Matic is set to turn 33 soon and has been linked with a move away recently. On the other hand, Pogba’s future also appears to be up in the air with just a year left on his current deal. Thus, the club could possibly find themselves short of options soon.
As reported by BILD (via GOAL), Manchester United are eyeing a potential summer move for Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka.

Manchester United linked with Goretzka
Goretzka has only one year left on his current deal with Bayern Munich. As a result, there is a possibility that he could be on the move this summer if a contract extension is not agreed soon.
The 26-year-old has been in terrific form in recent times. Last season, the midfielder scored 8 goals and provided 9 assists in 32 appearances according to stats from Transfermarkt. And the Red Devils could certainly do with a player with that kind of effectiveness in the middle of the park.
There are other areas on the pitch that the club need to strengthen in though before making a move for a central midfielder. Right wing, right-back and centre-back appear to be positions that also need reinforcements over the course of the summer transfer window.
