Manchester United midfielder could be closing in on summer exit
Manchester United will be entering the summer transfer market with hopes of turning this team into title contenders by making a few additions to their squad. The club finished second in the Premier League last season but there is still quite a gap between them and Manchester City, the league winners from the previous campaign.
Signing top players in the summer could provide the Red Devils the best chance to close the gap with Pep Guardiola’s side. But then again, it won’t be easy considering the financial climate at the moment.
As a result, some players might have to leave, before the club can bring in new players this summer. And one player who could very well be on his way out of Old Trafford in the near future, appears to be Andreas Pereira.
As reported by Corriere della Sera (via Sport Witness), Lazio are working to have Pereira back next season and have taken important steps in that regard. He spent the previous season on loan with the Serie A side.

Pereira could be set for Manchester United exit
Pereira joined Lazio on a season-long loan last summer. But he could not nail down a spot in the first-team under Simone Inzaghi. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he made 33 appearances for the club but featured for just 801 minutes of football.
But with Maurizio Sarri set to take over as manager at Lazio from next season, it looks like the Brazilian could still have a future in Rome despite not having a great first season with the club.
It is believed that there was an option to buy of around €27 million included in Pereira’s loan deal but Lazio are not expected to try to meet that figure. Pereira only has two years left on his current deal with the Red Devils though. Thus, they very well might be looking for a permanent deal rather than another loan spell away from Old Trafford. It remains to be seen if the two clubs can reach a deal.
