Manchester United could look to make signings in a number of positions this summer as they look to strengthen the squad. The previous season was a promising one for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side as they finished second in the Premier League and ended up as runners up in the Europa League.

But at the end of the day, it was another trophyless campaign for the Red Devils, their fourth straight. That is something that they will be looking to change as soon as possible.

One position that the club does not possess much depth in at the moment is right-back. Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been the regular starter and while Brandon Williams is capable of playing there as well, he featured for just 658 minutes for the senior side last season according to stats from Transfermarkt.

On the other hand, Diogo Dalot has spent the season out on loan with AC Milan and his Old Trafford future remains up in the air as well. As a result, it would not be surprising to see the club try to sign a right-back this summer and one player who they have been linked with extensively in recent months is Kieran Trippier.

Trippier has been linked with a move to Manchester United

As reported by Football Insider, Trippier has told his England teammates that he expects to sign for Manchester United this summer.

Trippier won the La Liga title with Atletico Madrid last season but it looks like he could very well be eyeing a return to the Premier League in the near future.

It is not hard to see why the Red Devils would be interested in signing him. He already has a lot of experience playing in the Premier League, having represented Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley in the past. He has also been a big part of the England national team over the past few years and was a standout performer for them at the 2018 World Cup.

Someone like Trippier coming in would be good for the development of Wan-Bissaka as well. Now, it remains to be seen whether Manchester United can get the deal over the line.
