Manchester United might be looking to sign a central midfielder over the course of the summer. Fred and Scott McTominay were Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first choice pairing in the middle of the park last season. And while they did form a very formidable partnership, there is a feeling that the club could be looking to make additions in that area of the pitch.
One name that has been brought up on several occasions is Declan Rice. The West Ham United star has been brilliant in recent times and it is not hard to see why Solskjaer would want him in his team.
But, it does not look like West Ham United are keen to part ways with the England international. Some rumours have even suggested that it could take a transfer bid of around £100 million to sign Rice.
Of course, it looks very unlikely that the Red Devils would shell out that kind of a transfer fee in the current financial climate, especially if they manage to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. Thus, the club might need to try to sign somebody else in the middle of the park. Could Wolves’ Ruben Neves be that man?

Could Neves be the man for Manchester United?
As reported by 90 Min, Bruno Fernandes has already given a glowing reference of his international teammate.
And Neves could definitely be a solid signing for Manchester United. At just 24 years of age, he has incredible experience of playing in English football, having made 176 appearances for Wolves through the course of his career according to stats from Transfermarkt. It does look like the Premier League side might be open to the prospect of the midfielder leaving this summer though.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with him in recent weeks as well and if the Red Devils want to sign the Portuguese international, they might need to make their move quickly.
