The current goalkeeping situation at Manchester United is certainly not ideal. Sergio Romero is leaving the club as a free agent with his contract coming to an end. Lee Grant was believed to be on his way out of the club as well but as reported by Sky Sports, he is now in talks over a new contract.
Not only that, but Manchester United look set to sign Tom Heaton on a free transfer when his contract with Aston Villa runs out this summer. Heaton came through the club’s academy but left back in 2010 without ever having made a senior appearance for the Red Devils.
On top of that, the futures of both David de Gea and Dean Henderson seem to be up in the air right now. Through the course of the 2020-21 campaign, the club had two brilliant goalkeepers very capable of starting for them.
However, both of them have been linked with Old Trafford exits in the recent past. And it remains to be seen how things turn out.

Manchester United goalkeeper linked with AC Milan
As reported by Football Insider, AC Milan are readying a transfer bid for Henderson. It is believed that the English international is keen leave the club if he is not the number one next season. Of course, there are question marks over that at this point of time.
The 24-year-old returned to Old Trafford from his two-season loan spell at Sheffield United at the start of last season. And according to stats from Transfermarkt, he made 26 appearances for the club, keeping 13 clean sheets. And while he was quite impressive on most occasions, he did make a couple of mistakes as well.
Gianluigi Donnarumma is set to leave AC Milan as a free agent this summer and the Italian giants might be looking at Henderson as his potential replacement.
If Henderson does leave though, it could see De Gea stay at the club for the foreseeable future. In such a scenario, Heaton would be expected to serve as the Spaniard’s back-up.
