Manchester United linked with Aston Villa midfielder
Paul Pogba’s future with Manchester United is uncertain at this point of time despite a brilliant 2020/21 campaign. The Frenchman’s contract is set to run out in the summer of 2022, meaning he will be a free agent next summer if he does not sign an extension with the club.
It is believed that the Red Devils want Pogba to stay at Old Trafford. But there is a very real possibility that he could be on his way out of the club soon.
Juventus have been linked with a move for the midfielder. And while Pogba might not have had an incredible career at Old Trafford till now, him leaving would leave behind a massive void in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad.
Donny van de Beek might be the man to step in, in case the Frenchman departs. But even then, the club would still be expected to sign a midfielder in such a scenario.

Manchester United linked with John McGinn
As reported by The Athletic (via Daily Star), John McGinn has emerged as a potential transfer target for Manchester United this summer. Darren Fletcher is believed to be a big fan of the Aston Villa star although he is not at the top of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s wish list.
Having registered 3 goals and 6 assists from 37 appearances last season, according to stats from Transfermarkt, the 26-year-old midfielder has proven to be an integral part of Dean Smith’s side.
His contract with Aston Villa runs till the summer of 2025, meaning the club won’t be under any pressure or in any hurry to part ways with the Scotland international.
There is no doubt that McGinn is a brilliant midfielder and he has already shown his quality in the Premier League. While Jack Grealish might make most of the headlines, McGinn deserves a lot of credit as well for Aston Villa’s strong showings this season. And signing him could prove to be a shrewd move on the part of Manchester United.
