With Manchester United expected to make a splash in the transfer window this summer, it seems like the club are once again in pursuit of Jadon Sancho after failing to bring him to Old Trafford last summer.
It is believed that Borussia Dortmund were looking for a transfer fee of around €120 million at that point of time, a figure that the Red Devils could not match.
But it has become increasingly clearer that the club have not given up on their hopes to ultimately sign Sancho. In fact, it is believed that he could be available for a lower transfer fee this time around, which has opened up the possibility for a switch to Old Trafford to finally take place.
As reported by The Times (via Metro), Manchester United are close to getting a deal done for Sancho and have fended off interest from Chelsea for the English international’s services.

Manchester United finally appear to be closing in on Sancho
The Red Devils need reinforcements on the right wing. They do not possess much depth there at the moment. As a result, Mason Greenwood featured there for the most part in the previous campaign although his future is believed to lie much more centrally on the pitch.
While it might have been a good learning curve for the youngster, clearly he is not the long-term solution there. Someone like Sancho can definitely be though.
Ever since moving to Borussia Dortmund, Sancho has established himself as one of the best youngsters in all of football. According to stats from Transfermarkt, through the course of his time with the Bundesliga giants, he has scored 50 goals and provided 64 assists in 137 appearances across all competitions.
Those are brilliant stats for any player. And what is even more impressive is the fact that he is still just 21 years of age and will only get better moving forward.
