It was at Manchester United that Cristiano Ronaldo first made a name for himself. Since then, he has gone on to achieve incredible things, both at Real Madrid and Juventus, and has established himself as one of the best to ever play the game of football.

He is 36 years of age today and very possibly in the twilight of his legendary career, but even then, rumours have refused to go away about a return to Old Trafford one day.

When he arrived at Juventus, it was believed that he would be the final piece of the puzzle that would take them to Champions League glory. But things have not quite worked out that way.

In fact, the Italian giants have struggled in Europe in the past three seasons and even lost their grip on the Serie A this time around, with Inter Milan being crowned champions. As a result, Massimiliano Allegri is back at the club and there could be some changes coming soon. Could one of them be parting ways with Ronaldo?

Could a Manchester United return be on the cards for Cristiano Ronaldo?

Paul Pogba has been linked with a return to Juventus in the recent past. And with the Frenchman not having signed a contract extension with the Red Devils yet, his future remains up in the air.

It is no secret that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would want to keep hold of Pogba. But as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport (via Express), if the option to bring back Ronaldo was on the table, especially along with a cash injection from Juventus as well, he could be tempted to roll the dice.

Now, would Juventus be willing to offer such a deal to the Premier League giants? That remains to be seen.

It is worth pointing out though that while 36 years of age, Ronaldo is still performing at a top level. And signing him could go a long way in solving the club’s problems up top, not to mention the eyes he would bring along with him as well.
