Manchester United are expected to make a splash in the upcoming summer transfer window as they aim to return to the top of English football and compete in the Champions League on a consistent basis.

One player whose signing would definitely make a splash is Jadon Sancho. The English international has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford for a long time now but it has never quite materialised.

In the last summer transfer window, Manchester United had tried to sign him but Borussia Dortmund were believed to have been looking for a transfer fee of around €120 million back then, something that the Red Devils failed to meet.

This time though, it looks like Sancho will be available for a lower transfer fee. As reported by Sport Bild, Borussia Dortmund could be looking for around €95 million this summer. It is also believed that the player would like to know which club he will player for in the future before the upcoming European Championship.

Manchester United will face competition for Sancho’s signing

Sancho is one of the brightest prospects in world football today and as a result, Manchester United are expected to face some tough competition for his signature.

Chelsea have emerged as contenders for the English international in recent times, with Thomas Tuchel believed to be an admirer of the player. And it is not hard to see why.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Sancho has scored 50 goals and provided 64 assists in 137 appearances across all competitions through the course of his time at Borussia Dortmund. Those are remarkable numbers, especially for someone who is still just 21 years of age and is expected to get better with more experience.

With their lack of depth on the right wing at this point of time, signing someone like Sancho would be seen as a major coup if the Red Devils are able to get a deal for him over the line this time around. And his arrival could turn them into genuine contenders for next season’s Premier League title.
