Declan Rice has been one of the fastest rising stars in the Premier League over the past few years. And he has been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea for quite some time now. It is not hard to see why though. He is one of the most consistent players in the current West Ham United team and has been very instrumental in their finish in the top six this season.
At the start of the campaign, not many could have predicted how well The Hammers would do though. Many even believed that they would be in the middle of a relegation battle. Instead, they have managed to secure a place in European competition for next season by finishing in sixth, their best finish in this century. It was truly a remarkable season for the club and they deserve a lot of praise for that.
Of course, Jesse Lingard played a huge role in that as well after joining them on loan in the winter transfer window. But it looks like Manchester United could be looking for Rice to make the switch in the opposite direction.
David Moyes’ recent comments regarding Rice’s future at West Ham United won’t be encouraging for the Red Devils though. As reported by Sky Sports, the manager said:
"“I don’t think [co-owners] David Sullivan, David Gold or myself have got any intention of losing Declan Rice.“We’ve just qualified for Europe, it’s a brilliant achievement. Declan has been a big part of that and we want him to be a big part of what we do next year as well.”"

Manchester United handed Declan Rice transfer blow
Manchester United might need to bring in a new defensive midfielder in the summer. The duo of Fred and Scott McTominay have sat in front of the defence for the majority of this season and while they have done well for the most part, it might be an area of the pitch where the club could be looking to improve even further.
Signing someone like Rice could certainly do that. But judging from Moyes’ comments, it does not look like the midfielder will be leaving West Ham United anytime soon.
Of course, this will come as a blow to not just the Red Devils but Chelsea as well, who have also been linked with a move for Rice for a long time now.
