It looks like Manchester United will try to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund once again, this summer. Their interest in the former Manchester City man is long-standing. They tried to sign him from the Bundesliga giants last summer but ultimately a deal failed to materialise.

With Sancho’s contract set to expire in the summer of 2023, the German club were believed to be looking for a transfer fee of around €120 million back then. But the Red Devils were not willing to match that and as a result, the English international remained at the Signal Iduna Park.

Almost a year on and it feels like Borussia Dortmund are more open to the idea of a Sancho departure this summer, with it looking like Manchester United are once again in the running for his signature.

It is believed that the Bundesliga giants will be looking for a transfer fee in the range of €85 million to €90 million this time around. But the Red Devils could try to bring that down even further by including Jesse Lingard in the deal.

Manchester United could try to include Lingard as part of Sancho deal

As reported by The Sun, Manchester United could consider including Lingard in an offer to finally bring Sancho to Old Trafford.

It is believed that Lingard has managed to catch the eye of Borussia Dortmund with his spectacular performances in the Premier League in recent months.

After a slow start that saw him barely feature in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side in the first of the season, Lingard joined West Ham United on loan in the last winter transfer window. Since making the move to the London club, he has found his form, scoring 9 goals and providing 4 assists in 15 appearances according to stats from the Premier League website.

The Red Devils are believed to value Lingard, who has only one year left on his current contract, at around £20 million.

Unlike last summer though, Manchester United might not have a free run at Sancho this time around as a number of clubs are believed to be interested in signing him as well.
