It is no secret that Manchester United have tried to sign Jadon Sancho in the past. In fact, the club have been linked with the English international for years.
Perhaps they came closest in the previous summer transfer window. But ultimately a move failed to transpire as it looked like the two clubs could not agree to a transfer fee, as it was believed that Borussia Dortmund were looking for a transfer fee in the region of €120 million.
Things appear to have changed since then though. After a slow start, Sancho has rediscovered his form and looks as good as ever at this point of time. But with his contract set to run out in the summer of 2023, Borussia Dortmund appear to be more open to a departure this time around than they were last summer.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano tweeted out:
Borussia Dortmund are qualified to the next Champions League. The club will now fight to keep Erling Haaland for one more season. “I’m sure that he’s staying”, CEO Watzke said. 🟡⚫️

Manchester United have been handed a Sancho boost but do they need him?
It is believed that Sancho could be available for a transfer fee in the region of €85 million to €90 million this summer, which could prove to be a good deal for a player of his potential over the long-term.
But the real question for Manchester United is – do they need Sancho?
There is no doubt that Sancho is one of the most promising players in the world right now. But the Red Devils already have one of their own in the form of Mason Greenwood. It has been on the right flank that Greenwood has featured mostly this season as it does not look like he is ready yet to lead the line for the club.
On top of that, they also have Amad Diallo, who is a very promising talent and was signed just last summer. Thus, Sancho’s arrival could have an effect on both of their minutes. And to be honest, there appear to be other areas in this squad that need immediate reinforcements over right-wing at this point of time.
