Manchester United receive Cristiano Ronaldo transfer blow
It has been over a decade since Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United to join Real Madrid in a then world record transfer. But since then, rumours about a potential return to Old Trafford one day have been around and never completely gone away.
This summer also, it looks like there could be an opportunity for the Red Devils to make a move for the Portuguese legend. He has failed to win the Champions League with Juventus and at this point of time, they sit at fifth in the Serie A table with three league games left to be played.
If that is where they finish the season, Juventus will be in the Europa League next season. And in that case, there is a feeling that a Ronaldo exit could look possible, especially in the current financial climate.
Juventus vice-president Pavel Nedved has claimed that both Pirlo and Ronaldo will be staying at the club though. As reported by Goal, he told Striscia La Notizia:
"“Pirlo and Ronaldo will stay at Juventus.”"

This could be a blow to Manchester United’s hopes for a Ronaldo return
While Juventus do sit at fifth right now, they are not a long way behind. With three league games left, the Serie A giants find themselves three points behind third placed Atalanta and fourth placed AC Milan.
As a result, there is very much the possibility that they could still finish in the top four. But on the other hand, Lazio have a game in hand and sit just five points behind Andrea Pirlo’s side. As a result, there is also a chance that Juventus could finish the season in sixth spot.
Juventus do seem confident that Ronaldo will stay next season. But as we all know, things can change very quickly in football though and a lot might depend on how the club finishes the current campaign.
