Manchester United are expected to make some waves in the upcoming summer transfer window. The club currently sit at second in the Premier League table and are in the final of the Europa League, where they will have the chance to win their first trophy under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer when they take on Unai Emery’s Villarreal side.
But one has to feel that the ultimate aim of the Red Devils will be to return to the top of English football once again and challenge for the Champions League on a consistent basis. It is safe to say that they are still a few steps away from doing that.
As a result, the club are expected to make a few signings in the summer and strengthen in a couple of positions. Two players who have been linked heavily with an Old Trafford move are Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland.
It is unlikely that the club will be able to sign both of them though, especially in the current financial climate. And as reported by the Daily Star, it is Sancho who is on top of Manchester United’s transfer shortlist as a transfer bid for Haaland is expected to prove too costly.

Manchester United linked with Sancho once again
It is no secret that Manchester United had tried to sign Jadon Sancho in the past summer transfer window. But ultimately, a move failed to materialise as Borussia Dortmund were believed to be looking for a transfer fee in the region of €120 million.
Now though, it is believed that Sancho could be available for a transfer fee around £80 million and that is a figure that the Red Devils might be able to meet this summer.
There is no doubt that both Sancho and Haaland are extraordinary players, and they would make almost any team in the world better. But in the current financial climate, it might make more sense for the club to make a move for Sancho over Haaland, whose transfer fee could possibly go as high as €180 million.
