Manchester United appear to be in need of reinforcements in a number of positions. But goalkeeper does not appear to be one of them at this point of time.
Dean Henderson looks like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first choice between the posts right now. The Englishman spent the first part of the season behind David de Gea in the pecking order but has recently made the position his own.
On the other hand, De Gea put in a statement performance against AS Roma in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final tie. While the game ended in a 3-2 defeat for the Red Devils, without some of the brilliant saves that the Spaniard pulled out, it could have certainly turned out to be much closer on aggregate than it ended.
In recent months, De Gea has been linked with an Old Trafford exit at the end of the season. And perhaps surprisingly, Jan Oblak has been linked with the Red Devils in the recent past as well regarding a possible move. The Atletico Madrid goalkeeper is believed to have a €120 million release clause in his contract.

Manchester United handed Oblak boost
There is no doubt that Oblak is one of the best goalkeepers in the world right now if not the very best. His contract with Atletico Madrid runs out in the summer of 2023.
But as reported by ESPN, Oblak is keen on a Premier League move in the summer and his representatives are looking to drum up interest from the ‘Big Six’. Manchester United are one of the clubs who have been made aware of the situation.
Of course, it would be very difficult to meet his €120 million release clause for any club but in the midst of the current financial climate, Atletico Madrid might have to consider serious offers for the goalkeeper.
Could it open the possibility for De Gea to make a return to Atletico Madrid? That remains to be seen.
