Manchester United will be expected to bring in a striker in the upcoming summer transfer window with the club’s recent struggles to find the back of the net on a consistent basis.

Anthony Martial had looked like the solution to their problems up top with his brilliant performances last season but has not managed to keep them up this time around. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 7 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions this season.

On the other hand, Edinson Cavani has looked good when on the pitch and is the most natural goalscorer at the club right now. But he has had his fair share of injury issues this season and is being linked with a summer exit as well. On top of all that, he is 34 years of age and won’t be the long-term answer for the Red Devils even if he ends up staying.

Thus, they could very well be looking for a new striker in the upcoming summer transfer window and one man they have been linked with for quite some time is Harry Kane.

Can Manchester United sign Harry Kane?

Harry Kane is without doubt one of the, if not the, best strikers in the Premier League right now. At 27 years of age, he has already scored 219 goals for Tottenham Hotspur, according to stats from Transfermarkt.

But he is yet to win a trophy for the club. And that wait is set to continue after they lost the League Cup final to Manchester City.

Although Kane has a contract till the summer of 2024 with Tottenham, he has been linked with a move away from the club in recent years. And you would have to feel that with him losing another final with the club, and them looking likely to miss out on Champions League qualification, there could be a chance that he could actually leave this summer.

In that case, Manchester United could be one of the clubs most interested in the superstar who they might need to shell out as much as £150 million as transfer fee to sign.
