Manchester United have enjoyed a very good season till now. At this point of time, they sit at second in the Premier League table and are in the semi-finals of the Europa League, where they will take on AS Roma and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are one of the favourites to win the competition.

But even then, you have to feel that the team is still not quite where they will want to be, which is at the top of English football and competing consistently on the European stage. Thus, they are expected to make a few waves in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Signing a new right winger might be near the top of Solskjaer’s wishlist if not on the very top. The club had tried to sign Jadon Sancho last summer but the move failed to materialise. Another player they were linked with in the last few days of the transfer window was Ousmane Dembele.

While the move did not take place then, Dembele could be on his way out of FC Barcelona this summer if they are unable to agree a new deal with him by then with him having just one more year left on his current deal at the end of the season.

Could Manchester United sign Dembele this summer?

As reported by SPORT (via Stretty News), FC Barcelona could be open to a transfer bid of around €50 million to €60 million for the French World Cup winner.

At 23 years of age, he still has a lot of untapped potential and could go on to become one of the best players in the world, like he was expected to do when he first moved to Camp Nou before a series of injuries saw him spend significant time on the sidelines.

Dembele has managed to put behind his injury issues this season and emerged as an important part of Ronald Koeman’s first-team. As a result, it would be understandable if the La Liga giants want to keep hold of him for the foreseeable future.

But with his contract set to run out in the summer of 2022, they might have to let him leave this summer in case they cannot agree a contract extension with him. Otherwise, he will become a free agent a year later.
