Some transfer rumours just refuse to go away. Cristiano Ronaldo’s possible return to Manchester United is one such rumour.

It has been over a decade since the Portuguese legend left Old Trafford to join Real Madrid in a then world record transfer. But it has always appeared that a future return to the club where he became a superstar could be on the cards.

Ronaldo has enjoyed an incredible amount success since leaving the Red Devils and has established himself as one of the best players of all time. But his time at Juventus has not been as fruitful as his stint at Real Madrid.

The Serie A giants signed him to guide them to the UEFA Champions League title, a competition Ronaldo had dominated in recent years. But unfortunately, that has not happened and instead it looks like Juventus have taken a step back.

Ronaldo set to finally make Manchester United return?

Ronaldo has been linked with a Juventus exit in recent months following another disappointing elimination from the Champions League. Naturally, the name of the Red Devils has been brought up as a possible option.

As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport (via talkSPORT), Ronaldo could be looking for a move back to Spain or England. It is believed that he is ‘tempted’ by a sensational return to Manchester United.

It is not hard to see why the Red Devils could be open to a reunion as well. Ronaldo remains arguably the most popular sportsman on the planet and thus, his signing would bring a lot to more to the club than just what he produces on the pitch.

That is not to say that the Portuguese no longer delivers the goods though. Despite being 36 years of age, he remains a lethal goalscorer and is the top scorer in Serie A at the moment.
