It is safe to say that Bruno Fernandes has emerged as an absolute superstar ever since joining Manchester United in January of last year. His impact in the team has been undeniable and now they find themselves challenging for both the Premier League and the Europa League title.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, since arriving at the club, Fernandes has scored 36 goals and provided 22 assists in 72 appearances across all competitions. Those are sensational numbers for an attacking midfielder.

He has been one of the club’s best signings in quite some time and naturally, they would want to keep hold of him for as long as possible. As a result, despite his current contract running till the summer of 2025, the Red Devils are believed to have offered him a new deal.

But Fernandes appears to want to see the club’s ambition in the summer transfer window before entering talks. And as reported by The Sun, he wants assurances over the future of Paul Pogba before signing any new deal himself.

Will Pogba stay at Manchester United beyond this season?

The case of Pogba is certainly very interesting. On one hand, it has appeared for years that he has eventually wanted a move away from Old Trafford and earlier in the season, it had looked like he already had one foot out of the door.

But a lot has changed since then. The French World Cup winner is playing some of the best football of his career right now and is one of the most important parts of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team.

As a result, could his form and Manchester United’s recent performances convince him to remain at the club and sign a new contract? Only future will tell.

As of right now, his current deal runs out in the summer of 2022 and if the club are unable to agree a new deal with him soon, it is likely that they would let him leave in the summer.
