Manchester United were looking to sign a right-winger in the last summer transfer window. While their initial target was Jadon Sancho, the Red Devils started looking for alternatives in the final days of the window as it looked like the move for the Borussia Dortmund star would fail to transpire.

The name of Ousmane Dembele cropped up as a potential target, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side looking to make a possible deal with FC Barcelona. United were believed to want him on a season-long loan deal but ultimately that move did not take place either.

Dembele is believed to have turned down a deadline day move to Old Trafford and remained at Camp Nou instead, where he has had a good campaign under new manager Ronald Koeman and is an important part of the first-team.

His contract with the La Liga giants runs out in the summer of 2022 though and he is still being linked with a future move to United, although FC Barcelona might be looking to keep hold of him after an impressive season.

Could Dembele to Manchester United still be on the table?

As reported by Calciomercato (via Sportwitness), Juventus and Manchester United are in the front row for the French World Cup winner. And Dembele himself is believed to be tempted by the prospect of joining the Italian giants.

Barcelona reportedly rate him at around €50 million though. And that could turn out to be an advantage for the Red Devils.

It is believed that the Serie A club might not be able to match that valuation directly. Thus, in case they are to sign Dembele, they could have to involve another player in the deal, which could be someone like Adrien Rabiot, or raise the funds through the transfer of one of their own players.

The 23-year-old has shown a great deal of determination in his performances for FC Barcelona this season, scoring 10 goals and providing 4 assists from 38 appearances so far according to stats from Transfermarkt.
