Manchester United signed Facundo Pellistri from Uruguayan side Penarol for a transfer fee believed to be around €10 million in the last summer transfer window.

After chasing a right-winger for the entirety of the transfer window, the club ended up signing two at the very end, with one being Pellistri and the other being Amad.

However, the Uruguayan was a little unfortunate not to make a senior appearance for the Red Devils before moving to Spain in the winter transfer window. He joined La Liga side Alavés on a loan deal till the end of the ongoing season.

He himself admitted that joining a club like Manchester United was a dream come true for him. As reported by Goal, he said:

"“To join a club with the history of Manchester United is a dream come true. I have learnt a lot at Penarol and I would like to thank them for everything they have done for me. To have the confidence of the manager is an amazing feeling and I know that working with him will be perfect for my development.“I am coming into a squad full of great players who I will learn from every day. Everyone knows that Manchester United is a club that gives young players an opportunity and I am ready to work hard every day to earn those chances and prove myself in England.”"

According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has made 6 appearances for Alaves thus far which have combined for 387 minutes of football.

Pellistri could leave Manchester United on loan once again next season

According to a report from Belgian outlet Voetbal 24, Club Brugge are believed to be interested in signing the youngster on a season-long loan in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Belgian side were reportedly keen on signing Pellistri on loan from Manchester United in January. But ultimately, a move failed to materialise and he ended up moving to Alaves instead.

And a move to Belgium might very well be on the cards for Pellistri in the future. At 19 years of age, it is unlikely that he will be making regular appearances for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

On the other hand, the Belgian league could be a great place for him to develop. A lot of good players have come out from there in recent years and it is known for being a great league for youngsters looking for regular time on the pitch, which is the most important thing for someone like Pellistri at this stage of his career.
