Manchester United have made €180 million Erling Haaland decision
Erling Haaland is one of the most in-demand players in world football right now. The Norwegian striker has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the past couple of years and has been linked with a move to Manchester United for quite some time.
It was only last season that he was playing for Red Bull Salzburg. He had joined them in January of 2019 but was not there a long time.
According to stats from Transfermarkt, the then teenager scored 29 goals and provided 7 assists in 27 appearances in all competitions for Red Bull Salzburg and ended up joining Borussia Dortmund in January of 2020. He has been an absolute superstar there as well, scoring 49 goals and providing 12 assists in 51 appearances till now.
His record in the Champions League is even more astounding. In 15 appearances in the competition, he has scored 20 goals and provided 3 assists. He is still just 20 years of age!

Manchester United have made Haaland decision
Naturally, clubs from all around Europe have been linked with the Norwegian. Names like Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona have all been mentioned when it comes to the striker’s next possible destination.
It is believed that he has a release clause in his contract which will become active in the summer of 2022. But some clubs might be looking to sign him this summer, although Borussia Dortmund could be looking for a transfer fee of around €180 million.
As reported by ESPN, the Red Devils as well as Manchester City have privately distanced themselves from agreeing a fee that high in the middle of the global pandemic.
In that case, it is unlikely that a summer move to Old Trafford would be on the cards for Haaland. But if he ends up staying at Borussia Dortmund, then a move in the following summer transfer window when his release clause becomes active could very well be a possibility.
