Attack has been an area of worry for Manchester United over the past few months. Anthony Martial has not managed to find the back of the net on a consistent basis this season. Edinson Cavani has looked good when on the pitch but he has had his injury worries. And Mason Greenwood doesn’t look ready yet to lead the line on his own.

As a result, the Red Devils have not scored freely in quite some time now. And although they have managed to squeeze out wins consistently, this is an area that they will need to improve upon if they are to challenge for titles on a consistent basis.

What will be a worry for the club though is the fact that Cavani is already being linked with a move away from Old Trafford despite joining just last summer. It is believed that the Uruguayan could be headed back to South America to play for Argentine giants Boca Juniors.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided an update regarding the situation though and revealed that Cavani is yet to make up his mind about his future. As reported by Goal, he said:

"“I’ve kept in touch with Edi of course. We keep an open dialogue and he’s still unsure what he wants to do next season, which I find fine.”"

Cavani leaving would be a massive blow for Manchester United

At 34 years of age, Cavani is not a long-term solution for the Red Devils’ problems up top. But even then, he has proven that he can get it done in the Premier League even at this age and is a great option to have for any club.

As a result, it would be a blow for Manchester United to lose the Uruguayan, especially considering their lack of options at striker. They are already expected to sign a new striker in the summer transfer window.

It does not look like the 34-year-old has already decided what his next step will be though and we can only hope that he chooses to remain at Old Trafford for a bit longer.
