Once again, it was not a brilliant performance from Manchester United. But once again, they were good enough to come out with a win and that’s all that was required on the night.

This was a massive result for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side. A 2-0 away win in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie means that they almost have one foot in the semi-finals of the competition and will be the firm favourites going into the second leg of the tie.

Goals from Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes turned out to be the difference on the night. And Victor Lindelof does deserve special praise for the performance that he put in.

It was an incredible assist from him which lead to the opener and he was the pick of the bunch at the back as well. An all over excellent performance from a player who finally looks like a first-team star at Old Trafford.

Manchester United Player Ratings vs Granada

Here’s how we rated the Manchester United players as they came out with a huge 2-0 away win over Granada from the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final:

David de Gea – 6.5

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 7

Victor Lindelof – 8

Harry Maguire – 7

Luke Shaw – 6.5

Paul Pogba  – 6

Scott McTominay – 6.5

Daniel James – 6

Bruno Fernandes – 6.5

Marcus Rashford – 7

Mason Greenwood – 5.5

Substitutes:

Alex Telles – 6.5

Edinson Cavani – 6

Nemanja Matic – 5.5

Donny van de Beek – 5

While the Red Devils might have the advantage, this tie is far from over though and the La Liga side are very capable of springing a surprise. Thus, the team must be careful going into the second leg. But overall, they should be delighted with the result on the night.

Now, the focus turns back towards the Premier League as Manchester United are set to take on Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday. It is worth noting that Jose Mourinho’s side managed a 6-1 win over the Red Devils earlier in the season.
