Manchester United’s squad looks set to undergo a bit of a shake up in the summer. While they have done well this season and currently sit at second in the Premier League table, there is the feeling that they could mount a serious title challenge next season if they can strengthen in a couple of positions.
While that would see a few new faces come in, one Old Trafford veteran might be set to depart the club as well. That man is David de Gea.
With the emergence of Dean Henderson as the first-team starter in recent months, the Spaniard now finds himself on the bench. And as reported by Mirror, he is set to leave Manchester United at the end of the season.
His current deal runs till the summer of 2023 and he is rated at around £50 million by the club. But considering the current financial climate in the middle of a global pandemic and the massive wages he earns at Old Trafford, it might be a tough task to find him a new club.

De Gea could leave Manchester United at the end of the season
The Spaniard signed with the club back in 2011 from Atletico Madrid for a transfer fee reported to be around £18.9 million. And it is safe to say that he has been one of the best signings that the club have ever made.
He won the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award on four different occasions, the first player to do so. And at the peak of his game, he was arguably the best goalkeeper in the world.
Unfortunately, mistakes have crept into his game over the past couple of years though and in Henderson, the Red Devils have an incredible young goalkeeper. At 30 years of age, De Gea still has a lot of top level football left in him though and if he does leave, there hopefully won’t be a lack of suitors for a player of his quality.
