Manchester United have shown some undeniable progress through the course of this season. At this point of time, they sit at second in the Premier League table. But it does look like Manchester City will end up lifting the title come the end of the season.

At the end of the day, winning trophies on a consistent basis will be the aim of the Red Devils. They have not managed to do that since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013 and would be keen to return to that level as soon as possible.

As a result, it would not be surprising to see them make a couple of big moves in the upcoming summer transfer window. And one man who has been linked with the club for quite some time now is Jack Grealish.

The Aston Villa star has emerged as one of the best players in the league in recent years. And his agent, Jonathan Barnett, appeared to drop a hint that the player could be set for a transfer in the near future. While speaking with The Athletic and as reported by Metro, he said:

"‘I’m expecting three or four very big deals of my own that will break a lot of records.‘Hopefully, they’ll come about. For the smaller clubs, I think there won’t be as many transfers. We have some very good players.‘We have probably the best young player in the world in Camavinga. We’ve got Grealish. We’ve got Konate at Leipzig. But then I’ve got over 100 players.’"

Grealish could be a magnificent signing for Manchester United

Now, even if Grealish ends up moving in the summer, it does not necessarily mean that it would be to join Manchester United. There have been other clubs who have been linked heavily with him as well, most recently Manchester City. And it is not hard to see why.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 7 goals and provided 12 assists in 23 appearances this season and is a massive reason why Aston Villa are making a push for an European spot this season. And if the Red Devils do manage to bring him to Old Trafford, it would be a massive coup on their part.

It will be interesting to see who the club ultimately end up signing in the summer. And it could play a huge part in the club’s direction moving forward.
