Manchester United offered £12 million for defender
Manchester United’s squad is expected to undergo a shake up over the course of the next few months. The Red Devils have made some encouraging progress this season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but it still feels like they are lacking in certain areas, because of which they are not challenging for titles on a consistent basis.
As a result, they are expected to strengthen even further in the quest to return to the top of English football, something that they have not managed to do ever since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.
Thus, it should not come as a surprise if a number of players are signed in the summer transfer window while a number of others leave as well. One such player who could end up departing Old Trafford on a permanent basis is Diogo Dalot.
The Portuguese full-back is currently out on loan at AC Milan. And as reported by Metro, the two clubs have opened talks for his permanent transfer, with the Serie A giants informally offering a transfer fee of around £12 million.

Dalot could leave Manchester United in the summer
Dalot has not had a spectacular season with AC Milan, but he has been consistent. In 24 appearances for the Italian side, he has scored 2 goals and provided a couple of assists as well. And it does look like they are interested in signing him on a permanent basis.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester United will be ready to let the Portuguese youngster leave for £12 million though. He was signed from FC Porto for a transfer fee around £19 million in 2018, when Jose Mourinho was the manager of the Red Devils.
He did not appear to be a part of Solskjaer’s first-team plans last season though and as a result was sent out on loan. But with United believed to be looking for a full-back and Dalot’s ability to play down both flanks, he might very well have a future at Old Trafford if he does not end up leaving in the summer.
