The approaching summer transfer window might pose a lot of challenges for Manchester United. While they have some defensive issues to fix, the rumour of Edinson Cavani moving away from the club could make signing a striker very important as well.
The Uruguayan was signed in the summer on a free transfer and has already proven that he can still deliver the goods in the Premier League when on the pitch. Thus, it proved to be a shrewd move on the part of the Red Devils.
In 26 appearances or 1366 minutes of football for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, Cavani has scored 7 goals and provided a couple of assists. He has struggled with injury issues recently though.
There have also been rumours that he could end up leaving the club at the end of the season in order to join Argentine side Boca Juniors. He only has a one-year contract with the Premier League giants, which means that he would be a free-agent at the end of the season unless both parties are able to agree to an extension. Thus, the Red Devils might have to dip into the transfer market for a new striker in the summer.

Manchester United have been linked with Fiorentina striker
According to Corriere dello Sport and as reported by Sport Witness, the Red Devils have been named as potential candidates for Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic. The Serbian international has been very impressive this season, scoring 12 goals in 27 Serie A games so far while also providing 2 assists.
They won’t be without competition for the 21-year-old’s signature though, as Liverpool and Real Madrid have also been linked with him.
With Fiorentina enduring a difficult season and sitting at 14th in the Serie A table at the moment, it is very possible that Vlahovic could be looking to leave the club in the summer. And in that case, Manchester United should make a move for the promising youngster.
