There is no doubt that Erling Haaland is one of the most in-demand footballers in the world right now. The Norwegian forward has been absolutely sensational over the past couple of seasons and as a result, naturally some of the biggest clubs in the world are now looking to sign him. Manchester United appear to be one of them.
Haaland has scored 49 goals and provided 11 assists in 49 appearances ever since joining Borussia Dortmund in January of last year. Before that, he had scored 29 goals and provided 7 assists in 27 appearances for Red Bull Salzburg.
His record in the Champions League is even more astounding, as he has scored 20 goals in just 14 appearances in the competition and is averaging a goal every 54 minutes!
Thus, it is not hard to see why some of Europe’s biggest clubs are after him and he is being touted as a future Ballon d’Or winner. And as reported by ESPN, Borussia Dortmund have set a massive €180 million transfer fee to let him leave in the summer.

Could Manchester United sign Haaland in the summer?
Haaland is without doubt one of the biggest talents in all of football right now. But will clubs be willing to meet Borussia Dortmund’s demands, especially when a release clause is believed to become active next summer that is expected to be much lower than €180 million?
It does seem unlikely at this point of time. But after the kind of form that the striker has shown over the past couple of years, it won’t be surprising if a club does end up making a move for him in the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils have had their worries up top this season, with Anthony Martial struggling to find the back of the net on a consistent basis while Edinson Cavani has had his injury issues. Even then, do not hold your breath over a Haaland transfer in the summer although anything is possible in football.
