Usain Bolt is one of the most legendary athletes of all-time. He has eight Olympic gold medals to his name and a number of world records as well. And he will undoubtedly go down as one of the greatest of all time when it comes to track and field.

Now retired from the track, his love for Manchester United is not unknown either. And it does look like he has been following the team’s performances this season.

The Jamaican superstar believes that Edinson Cavani is someone who should be featuring more for the Red Devils, when he is fit. And it is hard to argue with him considering the club’s struggles in front of goal in recent months.

As reported by CNN, Bolt said:

"“I think [Edinson] Cavani needs to play more. I definitely feel like as long as he’s fit, he should be on the field, you know what I mean, and overall I think we need to just pressure all the players. I feel like they’re so comfortable now because they know they’re going to start.”"

Bolt believes Cavani needs to play more for Manchester United

There is no doubt that the Uruguayan has been one of the best strikers in all of Europe over the past decade or so. And he might very well be the best striker at Old Trafford right now despite being 34 years of age.

Combine that with the fact that Anthony Martial has struggled in front of goal this season, scoring just 7 times in 36 appearances, and there is a case to be made for Cavani being the regular starter.

Unfortunately, he has had his fitness issues though, which have kept him on the sidelines for a considerable part of his Manchester United career. As a result, Cavani has featured for just 1366 minutes on the pitch through the course of the campaign, also scoring 7 goals.

When on the pitch, he has been very impressive and looked like a threat in front of goal. And we can only hope that he can put his injury issues behind him as the Red Devils enter the final stretch of the season, with the Premier League and the Europa League still to play for.
