Manchester United have one of the strongest squads in the world. So much so that they have a number of good players out on loan as they cannot break into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team. One such player is Diogo Dalot.
The Portuguese full-back was signed in 2018 when Jose Mourinho was the manager of the Red Devils. After a debut campaign that saw him make 23 appearances, he was less involved last season with just 11 appearances and 577 minutes of football.
Thus, it was not surprising when the club decided to send him out on loan this season and now he finds himself at AC Milan. And he has enjoyed a decent if not spectacular season in Italy.
Making 23 appearances for Stefano Piolo’s side, he has scored 2 goals and provided a couple of assists as well. And the manager certainly appears to rate the 22-year-old highly. At a press conference, he was asked about Dalot’s season. As reported by Milan News and as cited by Sempre Milan, he said:
"“He has characteristics similar to Theo, he has also grown in the defensive phase, he will become a complete player.”"

Could Dalot have a future at Manchester United?
While proving to be a solid full-back, Dalot has shown a lot of versatility as well and is capable of playing as a right-back, a left-back and even a right midfielder. Thus, he would be an useful player for any team to have on there squad.
But could he have a future at Old Trafford? That remains to be seen.
The Red Devils appear to have some great depth at left-back with Luke Shaw and Alex Telles, while Brandon Williams is also capable of playing there.
They are not as strong at right-back though, with questions being raised about the attacking side of Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s game this season. And while he is expected to remain the starter for the foreseeable future, Dalot could provide some decent competition to the 23-year-old.
He might not even return to the club though as both AC Milan and Napoli are rumoured to be interested in his signature.
