Manchester United are without doubt one of the biggest clubs on the planet and they have supporters from all over the world. They do not have too many fans more famous than Usain Bolt though.

The legendary Jamaican sprinter has eight Olympic gold medals to his name and holds multiple world records as well. He is retired these days though.

It is no secret that Bolt is a fan of Manchester United. And it looks like he believes that Fred, who has been a regular under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season, should not be in the midfield for the Red Devils. He also feels that the club need more strikers.

As reported by CNN, he said:

"“I think Fred should not be in the midfield.“I think he is lacking so much. He works hard, but he’s lacking passing and he gives away a lot of cheap fouls in bad areas — and we definitely need more strikers, somebody that’s really a pure striker.”"

Should Fred start for Manchester United?

Fred has been a regular starter for Manchester United this season. He has made 35 appearances in all competitions and it is arguable that this has been his best campaign since moving to Old Trafford.

There have been both ups and downs though. For example, the red card against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, which might have played a huge part in the Red Devils’ eventual elimination from the competition.

But then, he has been great in other games as well and has forged a good partnership in the middle of the park with Scott McTominay. The protection that the duo offer to the defence is a huge reason why the team have managed to keep clean-sheets on a consistent basis in recent months.

Of course, he is not a player who will provide a lot of goals or assists and clearly has his fair share of shortcomings. In fact, he just has a solitary assist to his name this season and no goals. But with Nemanja Matic getting up there in terms of age, it would be surprising to see Fred being dropped from the starting XI.
