It was a tight affair at the San Siro as most would have expected but ultimately, it was Manchester United who came out on top on the night and in the tie to advance to the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

After the first-half ended 0-0, Marcus Rashford was forced off, with Pogba replacing him. And the Frenchman made an immediate impact, scoring the decisive goal just minutes after coming on.

It was not just the goal though. He made the team much better in the second half and ultimately, the Red Devils deserved to go through to the next round although the Serie A giants did have chances of their own. Dean Henderson was up to the task this time around though after being criticised for the goal that he conceded in the first leg of the tie, when he could not keep a header out from Simon Kjaer.

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side through to the final 8 of the competition, you would have to feel that they are one of the favourites to go on and win it all.

Manchester United Player Ratings vs AC Milan

This is easily one of the biggest wins of Manchester United’s season. Solskjaer will be desperate to win a trophy this season, which will be his first as the manager of the club, and they do have a great chance of lifting the Europa League from here on.

Of course, there are strong teams still left in the competition and this is when things will start getting tougher. Arsenal, Ajax, Granada, Dinamo Zagreb, AS Roma, Villarreal and Slavia Praha are the other teams who managed to make the quarter-finals.
